Mayberry Minutemen

In addition to playing Gomer's cousin Goober, George Lindsey seemed to have a pretty interesting career post-TAGS, not just making glorious guest appearances like Roy Dupree on M*A*S*H, but also lending his voice to a number of Disney movies, alongside other former sitcom actors like Pat Buttram... in fact, George and Pat seemed to have a lot of characters together: Pat as the Sheriff of Nottingham and George as Trigger from ROBIN HOOD, Pat as Napoleon and George as Lafayette in THE ARISTOCATS, and I know they were both in THE RESCUERS, I just forget their characters.

Come to think of it, I always thought Don "Bubba" Bexley from SANFORD AND SON would have been a good fit for voicing characters in Disney movies as well.

Yep. He voiced the character Flem from COW AND CHICKEN, which I used to love as a kid... in fact, I recently did this little mashup of sorts:



He also did quite a bit of directing back in the day too; I'll occasionally see his name as director on some shows like TAGS as well as BEWITCHED, HOGAN'S HEROES, and a few others. Matter of fact, here's a clip from a really funny Doris Day movie he directed, which also features pre-M*A*S*H Jamie Farr and William Christopher as the leaders of a hippy motorcycle gang (and if you look closely, you'll also see Howard Morris in the background as one of the hippies).

Yep.I heard that Hal was good doing a Santa voice,and back in the day,whenever a network needed a Santa for their CHRISTMAS special,Hal was their man.
