Any Old Day Now...
« on: February 11, 2014, 09:05:07 am »
Andy Taylor had just gotten back from chopping wood for his fireplace. He wheezed as he walked through his cottage's back door and over to the fireplace. He accidentally dropped the firewood and decided to sit down to rest his old soul. His son Opie and his wife Eunice were coming by to visit him later on today. He sat on the couch and was saddened by the fact that only his youngest grandson Andy Taylor III came to visit him anymore, even though Opie's children Sam and Annie still lived in Mayberry.Barney had died years earlier in 2006 after a battle with lung cancer.Wife Helen had lost a battle with cancer as well in 1995.Everywhere Andy looked, there was always one less friend then there had been before, and Goober Pyle had died just a month earlier.Needless to say,his cousin Gomer was visibly upset, and only his wife Lou Ann and son Vince had been seen around town for the past month or so. The doorbell rang, and Andy slowly got up to open the door.He finally got around to it,and greeted Opie and Eunice with the words "Hey,Ope..." before collapsing on the floor.
THE END
A TRIBUTE TO THE LATE ANDY GRIFFITH,6/1/1926-7/3/2012
